yes! Of course, I still do it but... they just moved to a brand new facility and had the opportunity to create a sick waiting room as well as a well waiting room and didn't. I've heard of these and although I'm not sure how well they work, it would be a bit of a relief.
oh and you're kids are too little but I won't let my boys play w/ the books or toys. I'm not a super germ freak but that's one place that doesn't feel clean to me.
Me!! In fact, I was furious when we had to go back at 2 weeks for a weight check all because their scale had screwed up. I won't touch the door knobs and I use hand sanitizer like a madwoman in there. I am not at all a germphobe, but I feel like I can practically see the germs crawling around that place.
We have a sick/well room but last Friday when I was there for a weight check there was a mom in the well room with her baby. They tell you to go to the well room until the babies are 4 months old even if they are sick. Anyway, the MOM was sick and was coughing and sniffling. I sat as far across the room from her as I could but still. We have to go back today for another weight check and I'm dreading taking them there!
Our pedi's office has a nursing/newborn room. I try to time it so that DS is hungry when we get there so I don't have to sit in the regular area. I also take his own toys and keep him on my lap. Don't know what I am going to do when he starts walking!?
Yeah, I cover the baby with a blanket especially when they are just so young. had to go a few times due to weight issues and I was constantly scared of germs.
Re: NE1 else "afraid" to take kids to pedi?
That is a fantastic idea!
