Babies on the Brain

honest and flameable question

okay so the board is called miscarriage/pregnancy loss.

i don't want to sound rude or mean. but isn't there only 1 kind of pregnancy loss? Aren't they all misscarriages?

so isn't the board title misleading?

Re: honest and flameable question

  • techinically but there are a few kinds. LIke chemical pregnancies, still birth, etc. However they are all types of miscarriages. Some people just call them different things

  • I don't remember exactly what week it is, but I *think* somewhere near 20 that they consider it a still birth ...maybe even 14, before that it's a m/c.

  • 20 weeks is the cutoff.  Before 20 it is a m/c after 20 it is considered a still birth.

  • Under 20 week is a miscarriage and over 20 weeks is considered still birth.

Could be 22...I just remember that my second m/c was considered a "fetal demise" ...it's all the same to me, just as sad.
