bagandstyle.com has a 24hr. live chat. This was our conversation. What do you think...would you take the plunge?Katy G: Welcome to our real-time support chat. How can I help you today?Melissa: I've asked you a question 3 times now and keep getting ignored...Thanks for your help!!!
Katy G: We're sorry, did you send an inquiry thru email?Melissa: no, it was through the live chat...I was talking to Samantha KKaty G: Ok, one moment let me get her for youI think she stepped away from her desk. But how may I help you?Melissa: I called Louis Vuitton and was told not to buy a Louis vuitton bag if it wasnt directly through them or from eluxury.com. Why is that? How else can I confirm I'm getting an authentic handbag before I buy it...Katy G: Our LV's are what they call factory secondsThey are the items that did not pass the quality standards of the boutiqueSo LV would not endorse them due to some minor imperfectionsMelissa: where do you guys get the bags directly from?is it from louis vuittonKaty G: we acquire them from their factory, if an item do not pass their standards, then we get those lotsMelissa: so the bag is not certified if it didn't pass there standerdsKaty G: yes that is correctMelissa: and if I take the bag to a Louis Vuitton Store they will be able to tell me its real...Sorry, but some times things sound to go to be real.Katy G: That I cannot assure you, since I'm not sure if they would approve of an item which did not pass their standardsI understand, of course you would like to make necessary verificationMelissa: Thanks so much for your time.... Have a nice night.?
Re: about the handbags...
Why does it matter if its "real" ? If you like the way it looks, and its a good price then get it. Why does a name matter so much?
(not flaming, just asking genuinely)
I don't know. I doubt it. What is the difference between one of these bags and one from LV or eluxury in terms of price? If it's not that much, then I would say just save a bit more until you can afford one from somewhere that can authenticate it.
The thing that sticks out for me is that they did not pass factory standards. 1) can they confirm the condition (I mean, like is it obviously defective? What about it made it not pass?) and 2) if you choose to sell it later, you are not going to get as much back as far as resale value since it cannot be authenticated. Also, you will never be able to sell it as authentic.
