So when did your DC "army crawl"?

I always wondered if DS was early if I was just in shock. He was 5 months almost exactly (I think 5 months and a week). I can date it because it was the week he got christened.

Is that early? He was serious about it, he could get across the room like lightning from the 2nd day of trying.

I don't remember when he crawled up on his knees, I think around 8 weeks later when we went away for thanksgiving he was crawling properly.

Just interested.

  • Both of mine were 7 months, then started really crawling a few weeks later. ?5 months sounds early, but not freakishly early, if that makes sense.

  • Nora crawled on all fours at 6 months, so sometime before that.  I don't think that she 'army crawled' for very long, though.
  • DS1 never army crawled, and didn't crawl on hands and knees til 12 months!  Prior to that he did a butt scoot, pulling himself forward with his hands on his hiney.  I think he was about 6-7 months old when he started that business.

  • LOL @ butt scoot! DS never did that but sounds cute.

Yeah he was so efficient we wondered if he would ever crawl on all fours at all. Eventually he did though.

I remember when he was at daycare and I'd come to pick him up he would army crawl over all kinds of bumpy toys just to get to me (and no I didn't like the daycare either and we were out of there soon after). But army crawl over rattles and blocks and all kinds of things must have HURT. Owww.

  • DS army crawled at 9 mos and started crawling at 10 mos.  I don't think DD ever army crawled, she just started crawling at about 6 mos old.
  • She never did. She crawled on all fours at nine months, and about a month later she must have thought "eff this crawling crap" and she started walking (and running about 2 days later)

  • Jude crawled on all fours at 5 months!  He started walking really early, too (9 months) - it's great exercise, lol!
  • DD never army crawled.. she just went from sitting to regular crawling.
