I'm so bummed. Last week we brought her to the pedi b/c she lost some weight. He said she had a heart murmur and sent us to a pediatric cardiologist. It turned out that she has a small hole in her heart. The Dr. said that there's a 60% chance that it will close on it's own. It's really NOT as scary as it sounds, but still, who want to hear this crummy news?

We dealt with a VSD scare while I was pregnant, so I understand your feelings..I hope she is in the majority - I bet she is!!

I'm sorry - that's crappy news.  But I hope it will resolve on its own.  Incidentally, she is stunning and I LOVE your siggie pic.  I can't wait for DD's head to grow into all the cute hats like that I have for her.  She has a little pin head.

DS has a VSD.  We found out a couple of days after birth because it produces a loud murmur.  John's is medium-sized so it could close or he might need surgery.  We are in wait and see mode with the Cardiologist.  He did tell us that the small ones usually close on their own.  Hopefully that is what happens with your baby.

I'm sorry, I know that is scary. Just to let you know, for hopefully some piece of mind, my sister and I were both born with VSD's, hers closed up in high school. I still have mine and get checked every few years, I take an antibiotic before the dentist but other than that there have never been any complications and all Dr.'s have reassured me not to worry at all so I never have. I forget about it until dentist visits. I hope it closes up for her! She is beautiful by the way!
