Does gum make anyone else sick?

Okay, so I haven't had any morning sickness for the past couple weeks now, but GUM makes me nauseous and dizzy. Yes, mint chewing gum. What is up with that? If it chew it for more than 5/10 minutes, I get nauseated and kind of dizzy. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone know why?

  • So funny that you posted this.  I LOVED gum, pre preg, like chain gum chewer, and every since I got preg, it has tasted so weird to me.  It doesn't make me sick, but I can't chew it at all.  It is so weird.

Gum creates more acid in your stomach which is why you are feeling sick.  It happens to me too.

  • Chewing gum adds air bubbles to your stomach.  I'm guessing maybe between the air in your tummy and the extra saliva it's a cocktail for ugggh.
  • I love chewing gum but I can only chew for about 10 minutes and I get really sick...Don't know why...But then again I'm still getting the m/s and I'm 20 weeks along....

  • i was turned off by gum earlier on- but it doesn't bother me now. it didn't make me nauseous though- i just didn't have any interest in it at all.
  • I felt this way before I got pregnant!

  • Wow I was so surprised that gum makes everyone sick. It actually saved me several times when I felt super nauseous and I still carry about 4 packs in all different flavors everywhere I go- mint, tangerine, strawberry.....

Ah-HA! I knew there had to be a logical explanation for it. Thanks!!
