Does anyone remember in the Cosby show where Olivia (Denise's stepdaughter) would call them "Mr and Mrs Huxtable" I always thought that was a bit weird since she lived in their house and they acted like her grandparents.
Ms (MIL's first name) and Mr (FIL's first name). or MawMaw and PawPaw. they're not my parents. and where I was brought up, adults went by Ms/Mrs and Mr. Just habit. My MIL's friends think it's the "cutest thing!" ???
It may be a blended family thing. When Olivia moved in with the Huxtable's she was at an age where she would probably be confused to called someone else grandma and grandpa, knowing that they weren't. I think it was very characteristic of the role she played...a very smart and witty child.
Nia, Mom to Jayden Michael, Born 12/04/06, Adopted 12/07/06
And Elias Parker, Born 3.5 weeks early 12/20/2011
FINALLY!!! After 7 years of infertility!
OK so are you asking about when they are with me or what I call them when I'm talking about them with my friends
I don't really call them anything in their presence but when they sign dh's Christmas card (and I say his card because dd and I are not included on it) they sign it "the pineata family" Not our real name but you get the point.
I all my MIL by her first name. I could never call her "mom". I also might call her "nanny" bc that is what the boys call her, but I have only seen her once since the boys were born, so I don't have to call her anything very often. (She lives overseas)
Firstnames. I'm not a child, we are all adults. I don't have to call anyone Mr or Mrs unless I've never met them before or don't know their first names.
