Any one with high estrogen levels

I went in on cd 2 and they told me that Me estrogen levels where high 156 and that I was already producing big follicles.  I went back today and they told me the levels went down but, I didn't ask what the levels where.  They told me I could do the follistim injection tonight and tomorrow 150 IU and come back on Wednesday.  

The Re was a complete ass today.  He told me that since my estrogen levels have been high on Cd 2 for the past few month it would indicate that I had poor Egg quality.  My FSH is normal but 3.4 -4.4, I know that doesn't mean anything.   He told me that we should start looking to do IVF.  I told him that we didn'thave any coverage for that and couldn't afford it.   He told that I'm going tohave to weigh the values of what I want.  Shouldn't they have a little bit of better bedside mannor when dealing with these things.  

Does anyone else have high estrogen levels and what are you doing abou it?

my estrogen is high as well, however we haven't been with the RE to look at my response to the stims (was doing clomid with an OB)  high estrogen is not considered to be the nail in the coffin on ovarian reserve, but it can be a sign.  If you don't respond to stims, then they usually rule it DOR, but if you do respond, then they usually go forward.  High estrogen can make the FSH look lower which is why they consider it to be a possible issue.

 that being said, that doesn't give the RE free reign to be an ass lol.  He should be more senstitive.  Is this your first appt?  can you switch offices or even talk to the office staff?  some of the bigger offices have financing.  GL

I think you should find a new RE.

Eileen is correct about high estrogen covering up FSH levels. What's usually done is the Clomid Challenge to specifically see if the FSH levels rise after taking it. Has your RE done that? I had two cycles of elevated E2 levels and that was the first step with my RE.

I've been following your story for awhile and you've been spinning your wheels for a while. A new doctor may give you a more comprehensive picture of what's going on, plus have some better beside manner.

Thanks for your post. I actually was on clomid for 2 cycles and this is when I started to get screwed up.   It thined out my linning and caused all kinds of issues.  Last month I started the follistim injections and I amd going to get to do them this month so I guess will see how i do. 

I have been seeing the Re since Oct and he did get me pg 1 but, we lost it.  This is the only Re in our area that ins. will cover.  Most of the time I talk to the office staff but, a few times I have talked to him.  He's usually ok not great but, ok.

When you were on clomid, did they check your day 10 FSH level?

Thanks for your post.  They tried 50MG of clomid but, it thinned out my uterus and started to cause all these hormone issues since then. 

Unfortunately this is the only dr that our plan will cover in our area.   I think our TTc journey is coming to a close.   Where going to try this month with injectiables and I'm going to ask to have my levels checked each week.  If my levels are elevated at the beginning of next cycle I'm going to go on the pill for a few weeks to see if my hormones will level out and give it one more shot with injectiables after that and then that's it.   At that point it will have been 2 years since on went off BCP.

They check my FSH level every time I go in.   I asked the first month and this month but, haven't asked every time what they where.   I'll make sure I ask when I go in next.

Oh sweetie!

It sounds like a good decision to take a step back from the injections. I'd give the clomid challenge a shot, if you haven't, just to get that peice of information and then take a break for a little while to decide what to do. Clean your system of all the hormones then go from there.

There are many ways to become a mother and unexpected miracles happen every day. I don't know when or how yours will come about, but I know it will happen and I pray soon.
