I really try not to watch the news lately except for the weather reports.  Otherwise it just really upsets me.

So many of the stories are about people doing unspeakable things to other  people. It is so utterly stunning. How can you intentionally, face-to-face, cause another human being to suffer so intensely? . . . and when it involves a child -  I cannot begin to guess at the darkness inside the soul of such a person.
