What did you do with your crib set?

I have DD's bumper, sheet and dust ruffle, from PBK and can't decide what to do with it.  Part of me hates to part with it.  The other part of me says it's ridiculous to hold on to.  I am keeping the quilt that matches it, for sentimental value.  I know I don't need the other pieces.  What did you do with your's?  Once Upon a Child?  Craig's List, ebay?  It's in gorgeous condition.

  • IG's was in great shape too.  But I gave the sheets to a friend and the rest of the set, I just donated.  Granted I didn't spend PBK prices on it so it was easier to get rid of.

    I donated mine.  Someone made it for me and I never liked it so it was easy to part with.  I'm keeping a few things for my DDs.  I guess I'm sentimental and wish my mom had done it for me.  Would you want to keep it to pass down?

  • kylara - That is the sentimental part for me....I thought about keeping it in case DD wants it or if I had a crib set up at my house to watch my grandkids (my parents have MY old crib set up at their house for the kids).  I just didn't know if it would seem absolutely ridiculous to hold on to for that long!
  • I spent a ton on mine (Caden Lane).  I had every intention of selling it on ebay once DS was through with it, which is how I justified the cost.  But he's still using the bumpers and the sheet (the dust ruffle was removed when we lowered the crib since you can't see it).  The ribbons on the bumpers that tie to the posts are fraying and I had to resew most of them back on.  I think I'll just Goodwill it once we do a big boy room.  We got a lot of good use out of it.

  • Once DS is out of the crib we will get rid of our crib bedding......if we know someone that can use it and wants it at that time they are welcome to take it, otherwise I'll either donate it or sell it on Craigs List.
  • I spent a lot on DD's too, it's Banana Fish, and I plan to sell it on ebay when she's done with it assuming it's still in good condition.  It's in GREAT condition now, but she's not done in her crib yet.
  • I know, I have Rory's now, too.  It's from PBK and, aside from the sheets, it's still looks brand new.  Bumper, quilt, crib skirt, mobile, and 2 sheets.

    I'm going to try to sell it on ebay.  {Granted, I have barely even purchased anything off ebay, let alone sold anything so I have no clue how to do it; I just plan to.}

    I'm the same way with the sentimental value, but honestly, I know that it will just be stored away and never looked at for the next 20  years.
