do they use a razor to shave the dead funky skin from the bottoms of your feet? ?I just had this done recently for the first time. ?It was bizarre. ?

Yes- I've had that done. I cannot stand it...totally weirds me out.

In Massachusetts you arent allowed to use them in a salon but I went to a nail place and they went to use it and I told them no.

well when I was in cosmetology school we were told it was for safety and hygene reasons.  They can really hack up your feet esp if they are going too fast or are new to it.  Also imagine if they arent  sanitizing them the germs would be awful

Ya, ditto Kevs  . . .  I miss the razor though.  Sometimes you can bring your own into the salon and they'll do it for you still, but keep that on the down low, please, it's not exactly street legal

Its also illegal in NY.

I am in MA as well - I thought it was illegal everywhere to tell the truth. Definitely say no if they try to do it again, it is unsanitary and unnecessary.

I do go to a place that uses something akin to a powr sander on my feet,. They plug it in and I swear you can see smoke come up as they blast the skin off. It is fabulous.

Nope.  Not illegal where I live - VA.
