did those of you that read the book(s) really enjoy the movie? i watched it this weekend for the first time and i was so disappointed! i mean, i guess if they went through every detail then it would have made for a super long movie but it just seemed like they were breezing through, etc. i wonder if i'm just biased because i read the books first and would have loved the movie if i'd seen it first, or what. curious if i'm alone on this.
Re: twilight - movie vs book
to me, the movie felt like it was a "made for tv movie." it could have been so much better all the way around.

The movie wasn't that great. Their production budget was small and as a result, the effects really failed, IMO. The acting also wasn't all that great, and I don't think the screenplay was very well written.
That said, I fully believe that movies and movies and books are books, meaning that they are two completely different mediums of entertainment. If you expect a movie to be like the book, it will always fall short of expectations. The movie is just one persons interpretation of a story. Books are just a very personal interpretation that is never going to be repeated on screen unless you are the director. I've seen plenty of movies that were adaptations of books that were very, very good. JMO.

I haven't finished the movie but, it feels really low budget and the actors are not that great, imo. It also feels like the movies is just flying by.
Totally agree. I only loved it b/c I loved the book so much. There was WAY too much missing, but at least I could fill in the blanks with what I knew from the book. It was better the 2nd time I watched it b/c my expectations were lower. I would have probably thought it was pretty dumb had I not read the book.
That said, I was one of those waiting outside of Target at 8 am on release day. LOL.
It was probably the worst movie from a book I have ever seen. From the story, to the god awful acting, to the wet n wild make up, to the "chillax" comment.
And, it completely ruined the books for me! I was on the second book when I saw it and now all I can see the Twilight movie characters in all of their crappiness. Hopefully those horrible images will leave my brain over time and I can finish the series.
