Its just a cold ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

4 words that make me want to spit.  The Dr said its just a cold but if it doesnt get better or gets worse in 3-4 days come back.  No chest xray or anything even though her sister and another little girl in daycare has bronchitis.  I am really debating on weather I should change pediatricians.  Twice now she has said its just a cold and ended up being pnemonia and bronchitis both times we went to the ER.  I don't know if I can trust her any more.  This makes me crazy

  • I would switch.  I hope she feels better soon!

  • That is so annoying.  You would think since her sister had it then she would test for it.  I am in the process of looking for a new doctor too.  Mine wouldn't give Jack a flu shot because he didn't consider him high risk...even though he was hospitalized with rsv as a baby and has asthmatic symptoms when he gets sick.

I think you should switch if you aren't happy with your doctor, especially if this isn't the first time.  Hope she is better soon.

I'm sure she listened to her breathe, right? If it wasn't in her lungs, then there was no need for a chest x-ray.  I wouldn't switch, it would be irresponsible of her to order a chest xray for every child that has a cold. Sure, the cold could turn into bronchitis or pneumonia, and that's why she said to come back in 3-4 days.

I'm sure you are feeling frustrated, it sucks to see your kids sick. But changing pediatricians isn't going to change the answer that you got today.

Hope she is feeling better soon, we all have bad colds here too :(
