They used a small piece of tissue from behind is ear and graft it over the hole. I'm looking at images on Google right now to see what his incisions might look like, bandages, etc.
He had a tube in it...and the tube popped out. And the hole never closed. The dr wanted to leave the hole alone in case C had any more ear infections. He's been infection free for a LONG time...so the dr decided its time to patch it.
Its a good thing too because C's started talking much louder so I can tell its affecting his hearing.
The hardest part is that he has to be out of school for the week after surgery. No running around, no "contact sports", no blowing his nose, have to prevent him from sneezing if at all possible. Its going to be interesting.
