Baby Names

What is a name that isn't really bad...

that you never hear anymore? I never hear Kirk, which I don't think is bad. I also don't hear of any younger girls nn Beth.

I'm sure there are lots out there. Can you think of some?

  • My name is Kimberly and while it's not a bad name, it's not common anymore.
    Married in 2008 - DD born in 2010 - EDD 6.15.2012!
  • My name is Jill and the name isn't even in the top 1000 for baby names these days.  People would rather name their babies fancy glittery things such as Diamond and Nevaeh than something simple like Jill :).

The name Dawn is also rare these days.  I used to love it when I read the "Babysitter's Club" series.

Some other names I rarely hear on babies and kids:

    Susan, Carol, Hillary, June, Evangeline....

There are a lot of great under-used names out there.  Every baby doesn't need to be named Emma or Isabella :).

  • My friends' 3 year old is Laurie.  That's a great name.

And I'm Suzanne... which is a good, standard name.

  • We had several names on our list that used to be much more popular in previous decades but are pretty rare now...

Heather, Cynthia, Karen, Lisa, Jeanette, Theresa, Suzanne, Sheila, Robin, Lynette, Claudia, Cheryl

  • I don't love the name Keith, but it's not very popular anymore. Kevin is a name I love and never hear anymore either, other then my uncle. Also, Danielle, Valerie, I haven't heard Michelle in awhile.

  • *shudders* at Beth.

Lindsay, Julie, Whitney,  Anne, Cory, Jonathan

  • Kirsten/Keirsten. I really like this name and have only ruled it out b/c it's so commonly mispronounced.
  • I like the name Kent, but DH didn't like it so we didn't use it.
  • Jane.  I think that some people still use it as a mn, but as popular as it once was, it hasn't made a comeback yet.
