Anyone not use a rocker or glider?

We had planned all along to get a glider but just realized we have a great, comfy pink chair (it was my grandma's) that literally just sits in our bedroom. It would match and fit perfectly in the baby's room. Plus if we move it out, we could use that spot for the cradle in our room. I'm not sure how important having a rocker is. Thoughts? I am planning to breastfeed, if that matters.

Thanks!

  • I don't think I understand what you're asking (I'm slow today). If you're asking about using a rocker instead of a glider I don't think there is any problem at all. If you are asking do you need one or the other in the nursery I'd say yes, for feedings, comfort and convenience. If you're asking if you need one in your bedroom, probably not....you'll likely just sit up in bed to nurse if you're in your room. HTH....and I didn't completely botch your question. Embarrassed

  • I did not use a rocker or glider at all....just make sure you get a good feeding pillow like a My Brest Friend and a good nursing stool.
  • It's nice to have some place to sit in the child's room regardless of which you get.  Some times DH or I would sit in the rocker while the other was changing our first child.  I also BFd and used the rocker a lot.  I do wish I had gotten a glider because they are much more comfy then the rocker we had but that's just MO.
  • We used our glider but not for nursing. For some reason i never sat in there while we nursed. But both DH and I used it to rock DS. Had we not had one, i don't think we would have missed it.
