why is it so hard to find a good diaper bag?

I need a new diaper bag now that I am a mom of 2 and my toddler is not PT'd yet. I don't mind spending more $ on one but I can't seem to find a nice, roomy bag that also functions as my purse, is cute and doesn't necessarily scream 'diaper bag.'

I've considered the Skip Hop Duo but see conflicting reviews on them. Nothing at BRU looked like what I want. Nothing else is striking my fancy. So frustrating.

What do you carry?

  • I still have a diaper bag, but rarely use it.

I carry a black leather Coach book tote. It's perfect-- I can fit diapers for both kids, a soft pack of wipes, sippy, snacks, pacifiers + my wallet, checkbook, keys, cell, etc

It was about $229 at the Coach outlet.

  • Another Coach user here. I have two, but the one I use most frequently is the "Healthy Child Baby Bag" in the scribble design. It was $348 new, but I'm sure you can get a wonderful deal on it now.

  • I think we just overthink them. I just decided to stop overanalysing between the Fleurville, Petunia Picklebottom and Skiphop and get the skiphop.

Its the dash so probably t oo small for you, but I still love it 3 years later.

Yes they all scream diaper bag. Frankly anything big enough to do the job screams diaper bag when you have kids in tow. But only to other mums so I wouldn't worry.

  • I just bought a new Vera Bradley purse for all those purposes. My son is not potty trained either and his sister is getting ready to make her debut soon. I bought one in a style I thought was cute and would suit all our needs. I hate regular diaper bags and I never really used them in the first place.

  • I don't know how much you want to spend, but I am getting the Storksak Emily for my diaper bag with 2.  It is a shoulder sack and the cutest I've seen in terms of diaper bags.  I had a Skip Hop with Kate and will use that, too.
  • I have a black Kate Spade diaper bag and it is plenty big enough for all my stuff.  I like it because it doesn't look too much like a diaper bag.
  • I love my llbean bag.
  • Try the skip hop city chic, I love mine. ?Big enough for 2 kids, just gets heavy because you can load it up!
  • I also carry a Coach bag as a diaper bag.  It's not actually a "diaper bag" but it works great as one.  I got it "gently used" on eBay for around $200.  I will be able to use it for things other than a diaper bag once I no longer need one, which is why I don't mind spending the money on it (not to mention I am also a Coach-lover!).  There are all different sizes of the bag I carry. Mine is the XL size.

    This is my bag:

  • I love the Storksak for all those reasons.
