Is he being medicated?  many of the medication, that are XR or extended release are known to cause rage and tantrums when they wear off.  Let me know I can give you more info. 

There are newer generation meds that are supposed to eliminate that problem, of the crash and burn after the meds wear off...

One other one that I cant think of right now.  He gets meds three times a day.

Crap, My books are at school.  But I just went to a conference on this...  I know that a lot of these meds are multipurpose... BRB dog barking again..

OK... Sorry.  They may want to look into maybe changing a medication or giving them spaced through out the day.  When people have to take multiple pills a day sometimes they take them all at once and at times they could either increase side effects or decrease the effectiveness...

The one med triliptal is an anti seizure med, very often they use those type of meds to treat bipolar disorder.  Hmm, something ot think about...

I will be able to give you more info tomorrow, so sorry I thought it was just in the car. 

 I do think obviously that the med combination isn't working for him.  His parents should look into talking to the doctor, I hope it's a simple answer like just a medication change.

Thanks, I think that is all that is needed.  The triliptal helped his a huge amount when he went on it.  The ritalin makes him worse, so maybe it would be as simple as taking him off the ritalin, and increasing the triliptal.  I will leave it up to DH and BM to take care of.
