Success after IF

PCOS ladies

For those with PCOS...I am still breastfeeding and by OB said to expect AF around 9-10 months.  Now my cycle was never regular pre baby, so would I just continue to wait it out and see when it will return or after so much time should I call my OB for what ever reason to get it going?  I don't want AF, I just want to be doing the right things. TIA

Re: PCOS ladies

  • I'm in the same boat, but it's *totally* normal for AF not to return at all until after you wean.  I'm concerned as well for what my body does after weaning, but for now I'm enjoying not seeing AF!  It's not a sign of PCOS, just normal variability between women; many nursing moms get AF right away, and many don't get AF until a couple years PP.  I have never heard what your OB said, though I suppose 9-10 months could be an average, and we know that average doesn't mean that a large range isn't still perfectly normal.  Many babies begin nursing less around 9-10 months, which may be why many women's cycles begin then too.  I wouldn't worry at all.  Best wishes!!! :)
