Babies: 0 - 3 Months

jess, did you ask the ped...

how much to introduce? ?probably a dumb question, since i'm sure you did.

i was also reading all the "signs" of when to introduce solids and I feel like C is nowhere near being ready. ?i plan to discuss at his 4 month appt.... i want to hold off for a bit before giving him cereal. ?i don't think i'll be ready in 2+ weeks.?

Re: jess, did you ask the ped...

  • Start with one meal... 1-2 teaspoons and work the way up to 2 -3 meals a day at that amount and then go more as they want more... I was hoping to hold off until April. I guess I can try it for a day or 2 and see how it goes...

  • or could you put it in a bottle? ?and then offer a spoon in a few weeks? ?

i'm really just taking stabs in the dark with this. ?lol.?

  • I'm not too worried about the spoon part.. I'm a weird mom and have let him play with his spoon for a while now.. and I've fed him just plain formula with it... He likes eating from the spoon. :) I suggest trying it with colin (just the playing with) I was told by my friend that it helps them get used to the feel so that later when introducing solids it wouldn't be a completely foreign object in their mouth...
