What color paint?

We are going with this bedding set and darker wood furniture (although the furniture has not been ordered yet). We also rent and don't want to put too much effort into this but I really want to paint our LO's room. I am thinking matching the tan color in the bedding is probably the best choice but I'm not dead set on it. Any suggestions on what color we should paint the room? And do you think we could get away with painting one wall a different color? Or would that be weird? TIA!

  • I love the bedding and i've never seen it, where did you find it?

I think the tan would look good, the other option would be to match the blue.

Well, we're on our way to 3 kids, 3 and under.

Thanks! It's BananaFish from Target. We're doing this bedding minus the mobile and accessorizing with a cute puppy mobile and pictures that match the colors in the bedding.

  • I wouldn't do the tan--it's just sooo much brown and without anything else to lighten it up, I think it might be kind of drab.  If you did, though, I'd go several shades lighter than the color in the bedding.  I think I'd go blue.
  • You could also do a green, like a pale green. It might look really pretty!

  • Well, I'm always one for color, so I would do a blue that matches. If you like the idea of using tan, you could do a blue accent wall. If you did it on a wall with doors (closet, bathroom, main) it might break up the blue nicely. Especially with white door frames.?

  • That's so cute!  I would use blue, not tan.

Oooh that's interesting! I do like color so I'll keep that in mind.

  • The guest room in our house has similar colors, and we used a light tan on 3 walls and a chocolate brown accent wall. The bedding is mostly blue with tan and brown stripes. I was worried that all the variations of brown would be too dreary, but I LOVE the way it turned out. It actually makes the blue in the bedding pop out even more. This might work for the bedding you've picked, as well. GL!
