Is your lowest crib mattress setting insanely low?

I assume this varies by crib... I just lowered DD's mattress and thought that I should lower it to the lowest one so I wouldn't have to worry about doing it again. I figured she's just about pulling up so i'd have to move it really soon anyway.

It's so damn low now I felt like I had to drop her the last 2" to get her onto the mattress! haha Ok, slight exaggeration. But it is really super low and I had to stand on my tippy toes and bend my body all the way over the rail to get her down there. (it's not drop side).

  • Yes, ours is the same way.  I'm going to have to take the skirt off now because its laying on the floor.

  • We haven't lowered ours yet but will soon. I actually bought a step stool for myself because I am short and knew i might have that problem.

  • It's VERY low.  You'll appreciate it when your DC is a little older.  I actually wish ours was lower b/c DD has already learned how to climb out :(

I had to do the same thing.  It doesn't seem that low now that I have gotten used to it.  I also wish it was lower because DS can reach his wall art from the crib and wipes his wet snotty fingers all over the wall and I don't look forward to repainting that room.

  • Ours is very low too so for now it's on the second to last setting cuz she can pull up but isn't tall enough/motivated enough to try to get out yet.  I know I'll have to lower it again but I would basically be dropping her too at the lowest level!

  • We just lowered ours all the way today. Its SO low! I am only 5' tall and I practically have to drop him in. I tried to rub his back at naptime today and i had to get a stool, lol. Its for the best though, my DS just started standing in his crib and was hanging over the edge.

  • yup and it makes the beautiful crib look ugly too!  BUT, my boys are really adventurous and although they're no where near climbing out, I never want to give them the glimmer of hope :)
