I'm having friends over for lunch and I have no idea what to serve. If it was just the adults I would have no problem but they have two boys who are 5 and 7 years old. What do I give the boys? It's very casual. I'm thinking of doing a sandwhich platter. But what should I have for sides and drinks. The mom said they will drink anything and they don't have any food allergies. Is soda appropriate? Can anyone suggest side dishes? The reason I'm having a problem with this is that all the mothers in my MOM group never give their kids any kind of junk food (or so they say) like chips and soda. And many of them are strictly organic. I don't think this mom is quite so strict. Eek, when did it get so complicated?
Re: NBR What to serve for lunch
For side dishes for 5 and 7, I would suggest whole wheat pretzels, apple slices and I would have either juice or milk available. I would be sure there was a fairly plain sandwhich (like turkey and cheese) available for kids.
Have fun!
