sorry I didn't see your camera post until today... have you decided?  I know this is a little more than $200 but maybe you could find a deal on it?  It's what some of my photographer friends recommend as the best point and shoot, I don't have one but I've used it and it seems good

Some of the good things about it are that it has image stabilization and a wide angle lens.  Wide angle is hard to find on a point and shoot!
