So I have a doctor's appt on Monday for irregular periods; I haven't had one in over 60 days and before that it was close to a 50 day cycle. Dh and I are TTC and I have been charting...I'm not ovulating.
Anybody have any idea what I should expect at the appointment? TIA!
Re: Doc Appt...What to expect?
After starting TTC, I went 10 wks w/out AF or a BFP, so I went in to see my OB/GYN. She asked me several questions and after my responses said I had the symptoms of PCOS. I had to do a blood test, and a few days later she confirmed it. She put me on metformin for the last 4+ months, and I finally got AF unaided (though still no BFP) my most recent 2 cycles. OPKs never worked for me, prob. because of the PCOS. Sounds like you might be a candidate, so hopefully the doc will ask about it. Good luck!
No advice yet, but I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Since I've started tracking, I've had 3 cycles between 48-50 days, but my current cycle is at 65 days with no sign of O. I don't know if I ever O'd on the previous cycles since I wasn't temping then. Anyway, I saw my doctor in January and he said my hormone levels are normal and he's sure I don't have PCOS, so my cycle should eventually become regular. It seems to be getting worse though! I actually have my follow up on Tuesday, so I'll be interested to hear what you find out on Monday.
GL!
I'm hoping the doc will at least test me for PCOS. My mom and grandmother had some reproductive problems although neither were ever diagnosed with PCOS. If nothing else, just to rule it out.
Where are ya'll stationed at? What does your husband do in the AF?
I think DH is technically stationed at AFIT (in Dayton?), but he's at UT where he is finishing his PhD next month. Then he'll be a prof at the AF Academy in Colorado Springs - I can't wait, we move at the end of May! He was at Eglin in Fort Walton before here. That was really great. I miss Destin Beach! Do you like Tyndall? What does your husband do?
Be sure to post about your appointment on Monday!
DH is an F-15 crew chief. He's a supervisor right now, but he said you never know where they will put him when we move. We are hoping to get orders soon. Congrats to your DH for getting his PhD! So close! That is so exciting!!! I have heard great things about Colorado! I like Tyndall okay. But I'm just ready for a change. Alot of our friends are moving and we really want to get overseas. So we are ready to go. How do you like TX? I was born in TX; I miss it! I love the Austin area! It is a blast! I will post about my appointment.... It's early afternoon on Monday, so it will be a little later in the day. Have you been seeing doctors on base?
