Refusing Formula

Good Morning ladies,

I wanted to know if anyones DC has been refusing to drink their formula? My DD is alomst 8 months old and for these past couple of days she has been giving me a hard time drinking her bottle. She is eating her regular meals and is drinking her juice and water from her bottle just fine but not her milk. I dont know whats going on. She's never given me any problems before with her bottle. Anyone know what gives?

Thanks in advance

Liz

Re: Refusing Formula

  • I'm going through the exact same thing right now with DD. She loves to eat her fruits, veggies & cereal, but gives me a hard time with the morning and evening bottle. I'm thinking it could be because her top tooth is coming in, but who knows. I figure, when she's hungry, she'll eat.

  • i think the same thing and as long as she's eating and consuming her formula in other forms i'm happy. but i'm just wondering if maybe its time to change her formula to something else or even to regular milk. my mom said that none of us went the whole year drinking formula and that i shouldnt worry. but since everything that i read and am told said that she needs to be on formula until she's a yr old. it still worries me some what.

but i guess i'll keep her on her normal schedule and see what happens. i'm not too worry that she's sick or that its anything more serious. but will definately keep a eye on her.

  • Mine is doing this. In my case I think she just wants food, not milk. SHe's even giving me a harder time with purees as opposed to finger foods.  She will refuse a bottle and then notice me eating something, get a huge smile on her face and crawl over to me at full speed and climb up my leg. I just offer, offer, and offer again.
  • my lizzy does the same thing too. she's really into the whole food thing! i guess thats why im not to worried and now i'm happy to know i'm not alone in this. Big Smile

  • DD had the same issue.  In fact she's down to about 10 oz of formula in a bottle/day (I mix about 4 additional oz in her cereal in the AMs);  my pedi said not to worry as her weight is good and she's eating regular meals/getting what she needs from real food.
