Our current DCP isn't working out and we already have DS starting at another DC for 2 days a week. We're considering just cutting out the current DCP and having DS go to the new DC full time. The only problem is that the DC is $190 a week for full time. Does that seem like too much? It is a bit more expensive than we are used to, but I love this DC. I've been wanting DS to go there for a year and a half.
Re: Would you pay this for daycare?
It doesn't seem high for an infant, but it does seem high for a toddler.
If you can afford it and really want him to go there, the price doesn't really matter. But if it's a huge stretch and the one he's currently in is okay, then I wouldn't spend a ton more. What makes it better? The facility? The teachers' educations/experience? The educational program? Sometimes the expensive, flashy daycares are just that -- expensive and flashy...but the substance of them aren't any better than the ones who don't appear high-brow at first glance.
I'd spend a good chunk of time at both of the ones you're considering to get a good feel of how the day goes at each and go from there.
I'd be wondering what's wrong with it. Sounds like a steal.
We are paying $1680 a month. And it was $1600 a month in NY before. Loved both daycares, totally worth it etc etc but damned expensive. That is for 1-3 year olds btw, the infants and the kinder room were different prices.
