Magnesium Citrate?

Has anyone ever taken this? It is some apparently gross drink that they can sometimes use to "prep" you for studies such as  a colonoscopy. Well, I have had severe constipation problems since day one which are only getting worse and this is what they just prescribed me.

I am needless to say a little scared of this stuff. I have heard some not so fun tales of it. Any experiences/advice you want to share with me? TIA

I had to drink a full bottle the evening before my surgery last Sept.   For me, it took about 5 hours to really kick in - then all night it was rumbling tummy and running to the bathroom (maybe once an hour).    But it wasn't any worse than I expected.

My advice is to drink it cold...There is also a cherry flavor. 

 You'll be OK! It's better than Fleet Phosphosoda

Okay, heres another question for ya. I planned on drinking it Friday after work so that I sould be home for the remainder of the night....but I have somewhere to be at 7:00 am Saturday morning. Not a good idea??

I drank mine around 6pm.   It kicked in around 11pm.

I had to be up and leaving for the hospital at 5am... and I was all clear by then.    My tummy was still a little upset feeling, but there was nothing more left to come out by that point.
