Beta ?

Hi, I don't usually post often but I have a quick question. AF was due today and there is NO SIGN of her coming and we have been trying for a long time and usually a couple days before I spot so I was hopeful that this was the month.  I took a HPT and it came up negative. My doctor is sending me for blood work to see my BETA because the nurse says some people just cant POAS and get a BFP.  I am wondering, if I am pregnant, will the BETA be high enough to tell us right now with today being my 1st AF missed day and I'll have blood tomorrow.

    If you are absolutely positive of the date you ovulated then yes.  If you had that confirmed by temping, or a P4 test or something, then yes.  But if you did not have confirmation and are merely going by when you usually have your period, it might not be.  Even if you are always the same cycle length like clockwork.

    How many dpo are you?

    ETA: Betas are quantitative (you get an actual #) vs an HPT which is qualitative (yes or no). Anything above a level of 5 indicates pregnancy, and can usually be detected pretty early in pregnancy.

    I'm 12 DPO, I definitely ovulated this month after my HCG trigger shot. Thanks, I'm so nervous. I hate seeing BFN and wonder and wonder if its true so I guess one way to find out after tomorrow's BETA but I'm sure now I'll have to wait until Monday for the results even though dr wrote stat on the script if I don't get the blood drawn until night time I won't be able to hear back til next week :( its going to kill me over the weekend to wait.
