OMG. I took the boys to get their pics done at Picture People this morning. Now I know why it's been two years since I've been to a studio.
I have plenty of pics of each boy alone because I'm constantly taking photos of them...I just have a hard time getting good ones of them together and thought a studio setting with someone other than their mother taking the shots might work better. Not so much. There were no good ones of them together. She missed several good opportunities for shots while trying to set up a "perfect" one. Um, hello? Two-year-olds and infants don't really do well with being posed exactly how you want them. Flexibility is key, mmmkay?
I wanted to rip the fricking camera out of her hands and take the pictures myself. Poor Law was so frustrated because she kept telling him to do things that he didn't understand ("lie on your side and prop your head up with one hand") and the way she was trying to set up the shots with the two of them was ridiculous.
I ended up buying two sheets of the lesser of two evils shot of them together and then a sheet of each of them alone and it was 62 fricking dollars -- even with a free sheet and 20% off. Insane.
Holy crap that was a stressful experience.
Re: I will NEVER do that again.
But I bet the boys were cute!
That sucks! I've never been to one of those places, and I hope that I never am.
I've been wondering where you were! Sorry it sucked so bad!!!! I HATE picture people...when we used to go there more often, there was ONE girl, named Dana (that's how we remembered her all the time) that we would purposefully request...if we ever got other people, we ended up not buying the pictures.
Portrait Innovations is a touch better....
but yeah, I hate how they "wait" for the perfect shot...no you have to freaking keep the camera going with 2+!!!!!!
I went with the striped ones. I wanted to do an outfit change and also take some in the solid shirt/one-piece, but the whole experience had me so frustrated, I decided to hell with it.
That sounds horrible! We lucked out at Sears and found an awesome photographer that we used for quite awhile. She had amazing reflexes and caught some GREAT shots because of that.
Sounds like she knows nothing about kids.

Sears is the place to go!! I've taken the kids to Sears for 2 years now and have NEVER had a problem... Before I went to Sears I had gone to two different JC Penney's and it was horrible!!! But Sears is great and you can make appt.s online! Very convienent and I normally get the first appt. of the day that I want! hehe... hope this helps!
