SAIFer with an ovulation question (child ticker in post)

Hello :) I have a silly question. I have PCOS and was wondering if it is possible to get a positive OPK and still not ovulate. TIA :)
It took over four years to be diagnosed with PCOS. We TTC #1 for 18 months, did 5 rounds of Clomid and finally moved onto IVF...which worked! Throughout our IF journey, we suffered 3 miscarriages. We conceived both DD and DS without treatment.

  • Yes. I think it is because a lot of PCOSers can have a constant high LH level which causes the false positive on the OPK.

  • ditto pp.     a positive OPK means that your body is gearing up to ovulate, but it doesn't confirm that ovulation actually happened.
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation.
    Because we're fancy like that.

  • Thank you all so much :) That was what I thought but was not sure :) I have not used OPKs in the past but used a CBEFM, which is similar. Once we figured out I was not ovulating before I went on Clomid and then eventually moved onto IVF. I thought that there might be a slight chance that I was o'ing but now my cycles are getting long again so alas that is not the case. Again, thanks for the help :)
