I'm on CD 4 of 50mg of Clomid. This is my first cycle on it, and we are going with TI. The Dr. is only doing monitoring because I requested it. I want to make sure I stay on top of everything. When I go in for my second ultrasound next week, what should I be hoping for / what is good? One mature follicle of about 18-30mm? Is more than one ok? What is not good / what signs would we look for in terms of canceling the cycle / avoiding HOM? We're ok with twins but not a whole sports team.
Re: Clomid CD 10/12 Monitoring Question
these are great questions for your doctor. the monitoring is really to see where you are... some people respond quickly to clomid with multiple mature (18+) follies, and others take longer and get just one mature follie. and, assuming your dh's SA came back totally normal, be prepared that however many mature follies you trigger (or ovulate if you aren't triggering), you could end up with that many babies. so it is up to you and your level of comfort to decide if, say, you have 3 mature follies, if you want to cancel or not.
"good" is a very relative term and is based largely on your fertility history and diagnosis.
your doctor should also be checking your uterine lining, as clomid can cause the lining to thin. too thin of a lining could inhibit implantation.
Because we're fancy like that.
