I saw your post about driving with C to VA Beach.  I have driven with Haley up to NH (6 hours each way).  I sat in the backseat with her the whole time.  I made sure I was well stocked with bottles, clean nipples, premeasured formula and water.  I gave her gas drops with every bottle since she usually falls asleep eating and getting her out of her carseat to burp each time wasn't a possibility.  It was my first experience changing her diaper in public restrooms...that was interesting, LOL.  I also made sure I had plenty of burp pads, and an extra outfit in her diaper bag so it would be within reach rather than having to dig through our suitcases.  In a nutshell, just make sure you have yourself well stocked wherever you are sitting (whether it be in the back with C or up front with K) so you don't have to dig through a packed car to find stuff.  Haley did great.  She slept most of the way.  Good luck!

  • thanks for the tips! ?i think this will be about a 4.5-5 hour drive, so it's not too bad. ?I'm planning on leaving right when he's about to take his morning nap, so that the car will hopefully knock him out for a while.

we have a 3 hour drive coming up next weekend from NYC to Albany and we're planning on leaving at the same time, so this will be our little test, i guess. ?:)?
