I am looking to hire a college student for a few hours a week to watch DD for my OB appts and sometimes when I'm here, and then to be an extra hand when the twins get here.  SO it will be a mix of babysitting/mommy's helper. 

1. Would you pay 2 different rates- babysitting/when I'm home and we're doing group stuff?

2. Does  $12/hour sound reasonable?  TOo much/little?

3.  Any tips when interviewing?

ETA: 4.  How many hours/week do you think is a good start when the babies get here?

i'd be interested in interview questions too-we are starting that process soon.  i go back to work in june

i would pay one rate, and $12/hour sounds good.  here in NY, the going rate for a nanny is $15/hr for twins
