If you have it, where do you work or do you know of any companies that actually have it? We currently do not have coverage for this, so I'm thinking that if IVF #1 is a BFN, I might have to consider either changing jobs or getting a part- time job somewhere with insurance that actually covers it, otherwise, I think we'll be done. I know that sounds desperate, but it's just a plan B. It's ridiculous to keep paying $17,000+ out of pocket, then we'll be in debt and childless, THAT will make for good times.
Has anyone else changed jobs to have IVF insurance? or am I just having a panic attack?
Re: IVF and Insurance
I changed jobs, but didn't change specifically for the IVF coverage. Once I was made an offer, I started researching the company and found out they had awesome IF benefits. Of course, that swayed my decision heavily and I feel very fortunate for be working for a company in a state that doesn't even mandate coverage. I went from a job that had no treatment coverage at all to one that offers 6 IUIs, 4 IVFs, and all meds covered 100%.
Here is a link that should help. It's not comprehensive by any means, but should give you a starting point with the top 50 companies that offer IF coverage. Good luck!

FET #1 = BFP on 5/2011
I began working for my state...they have $20K lifetime infertility coverage and that was enough for me plus we don't have an employee share of premium. Maybe the State of Iowa is similar?
I was sort of looking to maybe go to work but not necessarily as I had my own business...just a lull right now with the economy the way it was but yeah I figured a $10K bonus at the start to pay for their share of the treatments for my upcoming IVF swayed me in their favor.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
NJ companies also have insurance mandates.
My company and my DH's company off IVF coverage. We work at financial firms in NY & NJ.
Lots of financial/investment companies offer IF coverage in order to stay competitive.
