~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~

This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every Tuesday and Thursday, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.

Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

Let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions for the group to answer, feel free to ask.

QOTD: Are there different levels of PCOS? My levels are normal, but I have still gained weight and I have cystic ovaries.

Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~

  • I am in the 2ww after IUI#1. ?I'm now 9dpIUI. ?My beta isn't until 4/3. ?Trying to be patient!

QOTD: I believe there are varying levels of PCOS. ?I was first suspected of having PCOS at age 14, but I didn't meet all of the criteria at that time. Since then, they've changed the criteria, making it a broader definition than it was. ?My weight and hormone levels used to be fine, but since I gained weight in my late 20s, my levels are now off. ?I also have cystic ovaries and lack of AF/very long and irregular cycles, both of which I had since I was 14.

  • Just had my first RE appt yest. Will increase my glucophage & start Femara next cycle. No need for IUI or HSG.

QOTD: Yes I believe there are different levels of PCOS.

  • I had my first monitoring appt yesterday after 100mg Clomid.  I have zero follie development at they are not optimistic at all. I go in Saturday just to double check.

I have an appt. on Monday for my follow up of the HSG (which was clear except for finding the bicornuate ute) and to discuss injectables/IUI's... I'm also going to ask about ovarian drilling

DH is completely heartbroken about the whole IUI this because he thinks its "not the same" as making a baby on our own. I've had to be so strong for him, and its really getting tough.

QOTD: Yes, totally believe in different levels.  If there was only "one" level.. CLomid should have worked for me!

Tree nut allergy in DS diagnosed 4/2012. Currently working with EI for SPD and possible ASD.
  • Nothing really new to report. I took Prometrium at the end of January to enduce AF. She never really showed up. I had so spotting for a few days but that was it. That happened in August also. I go back the DR on April 13th. I hoping for some answers.  We were going to start Clomid in April. Due to DH's lack of work, we are going to wait. According to our insurance we are going to be completely OOP. So while Clomid should not be that expensive, we are living paycheck to paycheck on a bare bone budget.

QOTD: Yes. I believe there are levels. My DR refers to mine as severe PCOS.

Loving life...one day at a time!
    Diagnosed with PCOS in 2003.
    Married in 2007.
    Failed adoption in 2008.
    No treatment yet.
Life changes have made TTC with treatment impossible so far.
    Trying on our own 2007 - 2013.
Calling the doctor to get started 11/25/13.
    Cycle 1 - 50mg Clomid/TI cycle started 12/1/13 - ovulated - BFN.
    Cycle 2 - 50mg Clomid/TI cycle - cancelled due to DH's flu
Cycle 3 - Benched - waiting on DH's test results for Hypogonadism

    PAIF/SAIF/PGAL/PAL ALL WELCOME!

  • CD1 and hopefully the last natural cycle i'll have before starting IVF.

QOTD: yes, there are definitely different levels/severities of PCOS.  i'm considered mild b/c i have polycystic ovaries and weight issues but my hormone levels are pretty much normal and i have regular cycles (with Met, thankfully!).

  • I would like to be added to the group. TTC since Aug '08, diagnosed with PCOS Nov '08. Have been on just metformin since then, but DH just did an SA. Awaiting results. Haven't gone to clomid yet because I keep hoping the metformin will get me right enough, but I'm starting to stress about "wasting" time and it not working. Now I'm trying to decide how soon to take it to the next step (assuming that w/ PCOS, insurance won't stick to the 12 month min of TTC). Am I rushing?  So many here seem to have been TTC so much longer.

QOTD: I believe so. My hormone levels weren't too off, but I had most of the symptoms and a few cysts.

  • Hi all, pretty sure I'm ovulating. Temp went up today, though not as high as I expected...hopefully I'll be in the 2ww soon.

QOTD- I think there are different degrees of it. My levels were just very slightly elevated and not on everything and I do have some small cysts. I definitely gained the weight too, YUCK!

  • Hello there!  Its been a week or so since Ive checked in.  But I got my BFP today.  I had my beta bloodwork this morning and my beta was 85.8, so I go back on Monday to see if my numbers have doubled.  Today was two weeks after my IUI.

    QOTD:  not sure about levels.

  • I am pretty sure I ovulated yesterday, my second peak day with the CBEFM and my temp went up today. Now I am just waiting to see how this cycle will turn out.

QOTD: My Dr told me that PCOS is sort of an umbrella term and there are many different severities, signs and symptoms.

  • Hello there. I'm on CD 18 and still waiting to see if I'll O.

QOTD: I'm sure there are many different levels of PCOS. You may have one symptom and the next girl may have all of them. Just depends on the person.
