I see a lot of us have "fur babies" and I love to hear what people name their pets. What are your pet's names? Do their names have a special meaning or significance?
My little guys are Cozmo (brindle) and Maxim (black). They were named after the magazines because when DH and I were dating we would always argue about what Cosmo said vs what Maxim said.
But don't be mistaken, both our pups are boys.
Re: Pet's Names?
Our pets' names have no special meaning.
Australian Shepherd dog: ?Sierra
Calico cat: ?Mrs.?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Our furbaby's name is Ralphie. DH bought him for us when we were dating. Ralphie is my first real furbaby. (I once had an outside cat growing up but it ran off to live w/ the neighbor:( ) I really don't know why we named him that. It just sort of stuck. Ralphie's pic is below
Our dog's name is Doug - for no reason except we thought it was cute.
Our cat's named Bobo. We had friends who got a kitten right before we did and they named their's Bobo so as a joke (stupid, I admit) we said we were going to name ours Bobo too... and then it just stuck!
Ladies, I'd like to introduce you to my super cute furbaby. His name is Gannett. He is named after Gannett Peak, which is the tallest peak in Wyoming. I figured hubby would let me have a dog if I agreed to name him after something cool like a mountain-LOL! I LOVE this little guy to pieces.
No special meanings to our pets--
Black Lab/ Sib Husky mix = Jazzmine (I wanted to name her Shasta and everyone told me I couldn't cause that was soda)
Black lab/chow/hound mix= Harley-- we named him while we were out shopping for a crate, collar and leash for him, his first collar was a Harley Davidson orange collar
fat black and white kitty = Pearl (we named her after my husbands drum kit --Pearl drums)
we're boring, I know!!!

Our little guy is Toby (as most of you know!). There is no special meaning to it. We just liked the name. He was almost a Kirby, but we thought Toby fit him better.
I love little Toby! He looks like he is smiling in that picture. Very cute!
When I got my cat, DH (just my bf at the time) was moving back to his parents in New Jersey after college. So I named her Jersey. He ended up moving to Massachusetts instead, but that was too long.
Our new puppy-Harley Quinn after my favorite character in the Lego Batman game. Although DH will say she's named after the motorcycle.

We have a shih tzu/yorkie mix that's black and white and his name is oreo and I hate it! We got him when he was 10 months old and felt bad changing it. I called him a million versions of oreo and my favorite is oreius maximus.
If we had got him when he was a puppy I would have named after an ewok since he looks like one.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Golden Retriever is Abbey, no special meaning DH picked it. She was Izzy for a day but it just didn't fit her. Our chocolate lab is Maya, again no special meaning but she also goes by moo-moo because she sounds like a cow when she gets upset.
Our cat's name was Melissa when we got her (also the name of my boss that I wasn't fond of) so we changed it to Pheobe because I love Friends......but she only answers to kitty.
Nissa (pron. knee-sa) is our 3 yr old german shepherd mix. She came with that name when we rescued her. We had planned on changing it since it isn't pronounced the way it is spelled, but she knew it so well and it just stuck! She is definitely spoiled rotten!!
Fluffy black kitty - Kindle (Randomly opened the dictionary and pointed to Kindling and liked it - had a few misses before that)
German Shepard mix - Flame (DH thought it would be funny based on the cat's name)
Blond Border collie mix - Kira (Just liked it - I now see it quite a bit as a girl's name in various spellings)
Morgan mix horse - Alaskan Quest aka Little Guy (I intended to call him Quest, but didn't come up with that until Little Guy had stuck...)
It's hard to change the names on rescue dogs isn't it? We adopted a lab mix named Milo, and it made me think of that Disney movie Milo & Otis. The only problem was that Milo was the name of the cat in the movie, and our own Milo was a pooch. Things didn't work out with Milo here, so we gifted him to DH's stepdad who decided to rename him Harley after Harley Davidson motorcycles. Milo did not respond to Harley, so they tried Marley. That worked for them for a bit, but he's back to Milo again. I guess he's stuck with that name!
Our black cat is named Ciaran (Irish for dark night; was almost Kiera before we determined he was a boy) and our mutt of a dog is Ginger (name she came with from the pound, she responded to it so we didn't change it).

Our 25lb cats name is Cletus.
Both of our furbabies came with names already. 85 lbs Boxer is Tobie short for Tobias and our 40 lbs Puggle is Harley. We create new names that sound like Harley to mess with the little one. He never knows the difference.
Because we're fancy like that.
We have an orange kitty DH calls BK (because I couldn't think of something to name him for a year when he was a kitten so I called him Baby Kitty) because he won't call him Baby Kitty. He is now 12. We also have a gray 19 pound kitty we named Lebowski after the movie - his name fits him perfectly - he is the coolest cat ever.
We're about to get a baby English Mastiff (SIL's dog is due first week of April) and are trying to think of names for her... DH likes Boomer and Scully. I'm on the fence but can't think of anything super cool.
Our dogs names' are Boozer & Pudge. They came pre-named since they were both rescue pup's, but they're fitting. I believe Boozer was named after the basketball player (Carlos Boozer) and I'm not sure how Pudge came to have his name
)
Our rescue dog's name is Cable. That's DH's favorite comic book character and I thought the name was cool. Couldn't name a child Cable, but you can name the dog anything you want! His name used to be Collin, but we changed it when we got him at 6months. They sounded close, and he picked up right away.

After 4yrs, 5 IUI's, 2 IVF's, 2 FET's, PGD, and 5 losses our little miracle is finally here!
we have 3 furbabies...Border Collie is Magic, and 2 cats, male - Tigger and female - Buttercup.
Magic got her name from DH before I met him...Tigger came with his name from the couple that had the litter...we liked the name and it fit since he is a tiger cat. Gray with black stripes. Buttercup has butterscoth coloring and I thought Buttercup was cute, so that's how she got her name.
Dog: Beau
Cat: Dulcie
