Hey girl. I saw in the reply to my earlier post about how IF has affected your life you wrote that you quit your job. What do you do now? I quit my job as well and I am a "stay at home wife" for lack of a better term. Well I guess "homemaker" would work. It's hard cause ppl don't understand that I don't work and don't have kids. Its b/c of IF though. It makes my life so much easier. If you stay at home, have you found the same thing?

Hi Stepgirl21!

Well, I'm with you - I'm a "stay at home wife."  When I left my job, it was a matter of determining which was more important, a paycheck or my sanity.  There are times when I'm kind of embarrassed to tell people that I left a job without another one to go to - especially in this economy - but the company I was working for had some well-publicized layoffs soon after I left so I was able to tell people I was laid off.

I totally find it easier to deal with the IF without the job.  I can go to appointments any day at any time and, more importantly, when there's meds and shots I need to take in the middle of the day, I can do it in the privacy of my own home.  

The part that scares me though is what's going to happen when the $$$ runs out.  DH and I are very fortunate that DH has a great job with good pay, but IF is so expensive (we're doing DE) that we have to be very careful about our spending.  And, God forbid it doesn't work, it's back to work for me or else the mortgage won't get paid!

Thanks for your reply. I thought I was the only one in this situation. We are they same. Haven't spent a ton yet on IF treatment but are saving up for the blow. Hopefully the money won't run out for either of us and we'll be pg before that happens.

How do you spend your days? I work out a lot! keeps me sane. i also enjoy cooking and I volunteer some at my church.

No two days are ever the same around here!  I try to occupy my time doing projects that I have been putting off for years and years like organizing pictures and CDs, cleaning the house, cleaning out the basement, and occasionally working out.  Now that the weather is getting warmer around here, I'm hoping to spend more time working out outside.  I'm also lucky that I have a few friends that work part-time or work from home, so I'm able to meet up for lunch or take a walk with them.  Recently, I've been trying to start-up a custom stationary business so I've been designing some bridal shower invitations, baby shower invitations, and baby announcements for friends.  That's been a lot of fun!

But I have to admit, there's one day a week that I'm totally lazy and I just watch TV all day.  It's a different day every week and I never know what day it will be, but I enjoy it!

I should look into doing some volunteer work though - I think my time would be better spent doing that!
