Moving on to IVF #2

DH and I decided to use our 2nd and last covered IVF. The RE's office called today and asked if we wanted to use my insurance for a fresh or frozen. (We would rather pay $5000 OOP for an FET rather than $15000 for a fresh. Plus we can get more embryos to freeze if needed down the road.) Last cycle I went straight to stims. Because I had extremely high estrogen levels the last cycle and so many eggs, they are doing the BCP/Lupron. So when I get AF either today or tomorrow I will start BCP. The only concern I have is that I haven't spoken to my RE since the BFN. I would like to talk to him to see what happened last cycle.  Has anyone who has gotten  BFN's had a sit down or phone conversation with their RE??

While I haven't had IVF yet, I know that there are RE who do sit down meetings to go over potential issues following a BFN.  Crossing all for a BFP this time!

We just started BCPs on Thursday for IVF#2. My RE called me, but no real explanation of why we got the BFN, other than possibly age. Which, is hard to believe since the embies were really good quality going in. Good Luck!

Good Luck with your 2nd IVF. I would have thought that your RE would have set you down for a meeting after your BFN. Maybe you could call and see if he had written some notes about it, or ask for an appt if you really want to talk.

I had 4 IVFs at 2 different clinics, and after each failed cycle, I had a conversation with my RE to analyze the previous failed cycle.  One was by phone b/c it was an out-of-town clinic, and the others were in person.  I'd insist on this, if only so you can feel like you've explored all the possible changes you could make to your protocol to get a different result.  Good luck.

After my failed IVF, the office automatically suggested a follow-up meeting. At the meeting, the doctor reviewed everything and provided feedback. I would definitely recommend a consult to discuss your previous IVF and what the protocol will be going forward.

Yes, I have had a meeting with the RE regarding both my failed cycles, and this time I had a meeting with another RE at the practice about a new protocol for IVF #3.  I am also watching my estrodial levels very carefully this cycle because they got very high for IVF 2.

I had an appt with each ivf and she let me know the quality of the eggs and what she recomends for protocols.

After my first IVF failed, I met with my RE the day after my period started, we went over the previous cycle and we came up with a plan for IVF#2.  I started BCP that same day and Lupron a couple of weeks after that.  Can you call your RE to go over things from the previous cycle?  I found it kind of helpful.
