Hi- I am new here... and had my HSG today... ouch. anyway... what does it mean if my left tube didnt spill out like my right tube? What are the treatments if there is something wrong...
It could mean that there is some blockage or endo in your left tube. Surgery may remedy the situation. In many circumstances, women get pg with only one open tube. Likely your RE would give your stims to increase your chances of having follies on the right side or your "good" tube. Otherwise, IVF is an option as tubes are not needed for IVF.
Yes, this test hurt a lot. I was not prepared because I had read so many posts about it not hurting. Then I find out that it really hurts if you have blockages. My right tube is completely blocked, dye went through left but not right. RE can tell you at which end it's blocked etc. They wanted to do surgery on mine to go in and see if I have endometriosis or not. Or we could elect to do IUI's. We did IUI's, both BFN. RE suggested surgery again, but we opted to move onto IVF.
Do you have a follow up appt with your RE to discuss results and what's next? That would be the next step, I would think.
Good luck!!

and does it matter that the dr said the dye went all the way though it looked like it just wasnt spilling out like the right side? does that make any sense?
I had my HSG today too - and similar results, sort of. Right tube was all clear, the left side the dye pooled in an area where it often pools for many women, there's sort of a 'basin' and that's where mine pooled. However, for me it's scar tissue - I had surgery in April, and most of the fibroid removal and endo was on the left side of my uterus.
Did your RE do your test? Mine gave me my results right there, and we talked a bit about it - he's not concerned about the dye not flowing out of the left side the way it did the right, and he's hopeful we can do an IUI this weekend. You can always call your RE if you have questions or concerns about the left tube and what it means, rather than speculate. I'm so sorry yours hurt :-(
What CD were you on when you had the test if your next appt isn't until Mar. 30? My appt is Friday, but I'm on CD9 today, CD11 on Friday and I had a short cycle last month (25 days).
I am on CD8 today... so it will be cd13 on monday. I usually have 30-34 day cycles.... so we shall see. this is my first month to be monitored... so I am just anxious to get the u/s.
I'm fairly new here too, and had my HSG about 2 weeks ago. Ditto the ouch! When I looked at the image onscreen, I thought he was going to tell me something was wrong because it looked like the dye leaked out quite a bit on my left side and not so much on the right... but the radiologist said everything was clear.
If they didn't say it was blocked, hopefully you don't have anything to worry about?
