Tell Me About Testing Out The Trigger..

It seems that the trigger can be in your system for a while and give you false?positives...correct?

The idea behind POAS and "testing out the trigger" is to test until you are sure it is no longer in your system so it may be possible to get a real?positive...correct??

If that is the case, when do you start to test? The day after you do the trigger?

My RE does not want us taking a home PG test, only relay on the beta. Though if we do get a?positive?beta, I am sure I will POAS just to see it. ?

  • Hey Kismet. Yup, I tested mine out last cycle just so I would know when it was officially gone & I would know it was a BFP when I tested later (had I gotten one). I didn't have a beta scheduled, though.

I started the day after the trigger because I had no idea how long it would stay in my system (it ended up staying for 8 days), and I have lots of internet cheapies. This time, around, I'll probably start testing it out around 5 days post trigger.

    Good luck!!!

  • Yes.  You've got the concept....  :-)  I bought cheapie internet pee sticks and started POAS the day after the trigger but I am double-lined deprived. :-)  I POAS'ed every day until the double line was gone.  I have read that it can take 10 days or more post hcg injection for the hcg to leave, but I tested negative at 7 dp injection.  Now, I'm just waiting for a magical reappearance of the 2 lines.

Best wishes for a double line  :-) (a real one!)

  • Thanks for the info. Not sure what I will do, but it is an?interesting?idea.

Selfishly, I just want to see a double line. Even if it is a fake one :)?

  • That's where I was... I just wanted to see the double line.  Never had a real one of those and for a minute let myself imagine what it might feel like.   GL
  • I tested out my trigger this week actually. Let's see...my trigger was the evening of 3/13. I began testing on 3/23 (positive) and got a negative the morning of 3/24.
