DE Ladies - No updates on donor...

I noticed that most of the DE ladies have gotten updates on their donors.  I have not been told a single thing about my donor.  I have no idea if she's taking her meds correctly, if she's responding to the meds, if she's had any testing done - nothing!  Our donor is on the west coast and I'm on the east coast (could we be further apart?) so perhaps that's why.......

Should I be concerned or is this just the way my RE works?

Did you ladies ask for updates or was the info offered?

It probably has to do with the fact that she is at a different clinic right now. When did she start stims? If your projected ER is 4/1, that probably means she started around the same time mine did (3/21).  I haven't received any updates yet but that's because usually you go several days on stims before having a first monitoring appointment.  Not much happens over the first 4-5 days :)

Typically, stims last 9-10 days, but because donors tend to be young and good responders, I would guess that 9 days is average.  Add one day for trigger (in other words, you don't stim on the night you trigger), and then retrieval happens 40 hours later.  So if your donor started stims 3/21 (like mine!), 9 days of stims would put her last stim day at 3/29; then trigger would be 3/30, then ER would be the morning of 4/1.

If you want, you can call your RE tomorrow or Friday and ask if they have received an update that they can share with you.

    GL!

  • I asked BIVF if I would get updated on the donor and they told me I would get them just like if it were my own IVF cycle. Maybe they aren't calling you because it is an outside clinic doing the monitoring?  I would call and ask for updates.  They must have them and it probably isn't getting on the nurses list to call you.

  • I didn't ask for the updates, they told from the beginning that after 5 nights of stims, I'll get an update on every appt she has.  I appreciate the updates as I never got far with my own eggs so it's fun to hear good news for once!

I'm sure if you call they'll give you an update though?  But I do think it's b/c she's at a different clinic than you.  Or, it may just very well be too early for any kinds of updates.  My donor started stims on 3/18 and I got my first update on 3/23.
