So I am currently in the 2ww for IUI #7, but I am not feeling so positive. We have an IVF consult scheduled for 4/16 and then we will start IVF in May.
I got laid off in November and have been applying for all sorts of stuff but no one has called. We are REALLY hurting financially, but I have to say the plus side is that I have been able to not worry about DR's appointments. I was at the RE EVERY DAY last week, and I can't imagine how hard that would have been if I was working. But I have an interview today and it's for a job I really would like. But I am so terrified that I am gonna take a job, and then have to start IVF and need to ask for days off already.
How do you working girls do it?? I know you need AT LEAST a day for ER, and then I am sure for ET. Anyone else out there that started a new job before starting IVF?
Re: Need thoughts- New job + IVF?
I have heard of people having to do it. I think you need to do what is right for you. Sick time?
You need a day for the ER and two days for the ET.
I am in a different position as I am leaving a job and we are making a cross country move to Texas next month.
I am currently in my last two weeks at my job. I am taking a day for my ER tomorrow and two days next week for my ET. I feel bad because that is my last week in the office, but I gave them 2.5 months notice and I need to do what I need to do.
Would you?consider?delaying IVF a month? ?Maybe then you could have a month at the new job before needing some time off.?
If you get the offer, just mention that you have a tentatively scheduled minor surgical procedure that you might need a few days off for. It's rarely a problem - people have pre-existing plans even when they take new jobs and employers are usually understanding of that.

I'm in the same boat. I've been at my new job for a week, and I told my boss my first day I had some medical stuff coming up that might require me to come in late a few days and be out for a few days, but that I could schedule it to an extent. I'm waiting until the end of May to start BCP so I can be in the swing and potentially work from home the days I'm off after ET.
Fortunately my schedule is flexible enough that I can come in later so long as I work my 9 hours.
