Nursery Paint Help!

Good morning ladies, and a happy hump day :-)

 I'm having problems figuring out what color to paint the nursery. This is the bedding we bought: https://tinyurl.com/cufqgp

We don't know if the little pea in my pod is a girl or a boy, so we're trying to keep things somewhat gender neutral. Our plan was to  build a chair rail and paint the bottom half brown and the top half a light green color. Now I'm worried that it looks too boyish and we're not sure of it will match the furniture. FIL built us a changing table/dresser combo and it is stained a cheery-ish color (it's brown with a red tint) so that's another issue. Would the brown look weird with the furniture? I'm also worried that if we paint the whole room the light green color it will be just too overwhelming. Any ideas or thoughts?

What if instead of green you did that creamy yellow?

That's what I wanted to do to begin with and then DH saw an article about the color of nurseries and their affect on babies and supposedly a yellow color makes babies cry more so now he's totally opposed to it!

I would probably do stripes on the wall, thick green, smaller brown to match those colors in the bedding. If it is a girl you can later add a thin pink stripe if you want or even a blue stripe.

I think a nice light, leafy green would look great with the bedding and work for a boy or a girl.

forgot to add.... i don't think it's too boyish. i think jungle is very neutral. play up the yellow with accessories like wall letters, art, lamp, rug, chairs etc.

I created it in Publisher and then saved it as a JPG.  I love picture boxes on walls below a chair rail. you can paint them or leave them white like the walls and moulding.

Yeah, I think the brown would look funny.  We also did neutral, and when I couldn't decide between two light springy greens, in a moment of insanity, bought and used both.  (Darker shade under chair rail, lighter shade over chair rail.)  It turned out great!  Give it some thought.... I also really like the soft yellow in the picture on gap's website.  I don't think yellow would be too girly, either - I think that bedding set could really be 'boyed' up if need be.  GL!
