XP: Nursery Progress (updated w/ craft projects 3/25!)

My friend Lindsey and I went to BRU today and she bought all our bedding for us and a bunch of other clothes, hats, booties, etc. She was a mad woman! So after a nap, I worked on putting the bedding in to see what it looks like. Here's a sneak peak at the nursery so far:

One of my favorite parts of the room.

This painting was given to my mom when she was pregnant with me by my uncle who has since passed away. My mom kept it and it now hangs in Maddie's room above her changing table.

Crafty Updates:

So I decided to be crafty while I wait for my mom to come from NY (I hope she gets here soon!) and here's what I made:

Project One: Cute Nightlight for Nursery

I made this nightlight for Maddie. It's just a piece of fabric stuck to one of those "Design your own nightlight" shades with some crystal beads (left over from Project Two) and pink flower trim.

Oh and it still lets a good amount of light through when the light is on too. Plus the crystals look sparkly.

Project Two: Lampshade for the new lamp in her room

Well, the beginnings of a lamp shade anyway. We bought a lamp at Walmart that was black with a red shade that was cute but didn't fit the room. Here's kinda what it looked like:

My hubby spray painted the base white for me (it's in the garage drying) and I got to work on the shade. I put the same little beady things that are on the nightlight and I am in the process of covering it with pink flowers from Hobby Lobby. Sadly, I ran out though so I'll have to finish it sometime later.

Still to do:

- a friend is painting a big white tree behind her crib

- tidy up and organize the closet.

- hang up artwork

- finish lampshade

- buy the rocker and get it in here

- outfit the diaper changing area.

It looks great! What bedding and valance is that? I can't see the bedding very closely, but I love the valance!

If we have are having a girl, I hope to use the same colors!

The bedding is A La Mode from CoCaLo. We bought it at BRU (they had a 15% off coupon). It's a 6 piece set so it was a pretty good deal I thought. They only had a 4 piece set on their website.

I found another picture. I took it to show off the sign we bought but you can clearly see the bedding:
