what does your 15mo old say?

Re: what does your 15mo old say?

  • Rylee is actually saying alot, but her vocabulary just exploded with in the last two months.

    So far she is saying

Dada, bear, dog(makes the sound), ball, dat(that), Pox(our dogs name), ight(light), milk, tree(her first word), bless(when someone sneezes), book, cow(she also makes the sound) cat(makes the sound) up, no(shakes her head) yes(shakes her head), bath, hi(waves) and belly.

We have a book that is called where is Spot, I read it to her like 50 times a day and I think that is where she got most of it from. She is really into flap books and I think those have helped too.

That is what we have now, like I said though she just really started saying them, she olny said dada and tree for the longest time. She STILL isn't sayin MAMACrying

  • My daughter does but she has been talking since she was 6 months old. Her vocabulary of words will range from common every day words (mama, dada, woof woof, yes, shoes, two) from the ever so often words ( Shrek, grandma, socks, juice etc.) Today she said Joshua (her papa's name) clear as day. I doubt we will hear that word anytime soon!
  • Phoenix will be 14 months old on the 30th. He says

Mama, Dada, Cat, Pup, Ziggy, ball, car, truck, beep beep, toot toot, duck, quack, cow, moo, baa baa, shoes, go, up , down, stop, no, this, crib, bye, hi, home, teeth, eyes, please, backpack, map, poop, boom, sock, knock knock,

he's got a lot of words I can't  even think of some of them

  • DD says a bunch (mama, dada, blue (first word), mu (milk), down, dog, book, look, bye, hi, boom, barbra (baby sitter), papa (grandpa lost out on what he wanted to be called) and a few more I can't remember at the moment).
  • Mine just started walking @ 15 months so I really think she's been focusing her efforts on talking. She says about 15 words.

  • DS is 16 months and I think he may be a bit behind too. He says Mama and Dada (but not always directed at us, sometimes though), Hi, Bye bye, Uh-oh, OK, Puppy and he is starting to say kitty. I'm not too worried, the doctor didn't seem to think its a problem and we are trying to encourage him to talk but he just babbles so much! He gets excited and doesn't make so much sense. Don't worry too  much about it I think.
  • you took the question out of my mouth. My 15 month old is the same...
  • I think at this age they should be saying a few words in addition to mama and dada, and it couldn't hurt to get checked out by your local Early INtervention program, especially if the pedi is recommending it.  I wouldn't be too worried until closer to 18 months, but like I said...it can't hurt to get him evaluated right?

DD has started really talking a lot more over the last few weeks.  The words she says that I can think of are(I am not going to try to write them phonetically): mama, dada, hi, bye, up, down, hide, jump, out, Mo (for the babysitter and elmo), boots, blue, chair, bink, cow, duck, bear, ball, drink, please, yes, no, go, car, baby, dog, wagon, yum, eat, egg, toast, turtle, book, teeth....that is all I can think of...she also says animal sounds.

  • DD will be 15 months next week and so far we have mama, dada, hi, bye, night-night, this (also asks 'whas dis?' all the time), and Elmo...so only 7 spoken words that I can understand so far.  Plus she signs 'more' and 'all done.'  Other than that she mostly babbles :)
Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Let's see:

Mama, Dad! (always with an exclamation mark), Nanny, Pop-Pop, Ball, Dog, Fishy, Bottle (which is what he calls his sippy), Bear (all his stuffed animals are bears or dogs in his head), Duck, No, More, Me. I'm probably forgetting some.

Yes, I'm forgetting Elmo, book, up, uh-oh, pony, down, bunny, bye, hi, love, nice, and "Iz dat?"
