Anyone familiar with Asherman's Syndrome? (FYI: some info might be tough to read)

I'm basically looking for some success stories.

My sister has a m/c at 19 weeks back in November.  She delivered but about a month later she had to have a D&C.

Today she was told she has Asherman's syndrome which means (from what I understand) if she even wants to attempt to get PG again she will need to correct the scarring and go on some meds for a little while.  Even with this her chance of having another healthy pregnancy are difficult to say the least.

Just looking for someone, anyone who might have some success stories with this.  I'm really trying to talk to her and help her think this isn't hopeless.

  • My friend had a very severe case of this condition.  You are right that it is the scarring of the uterine lining usually resulting from a D&C (on a pregnant uterus..much different from a D&C on a non-pregnant uterus).

It was a long road for her but she was able to have the scarring corrected and went onto have a normal pregnancy and not has an 18month old DS.

She should really do her research about how to treat because there is lots of conflicting info out there.  I was acutally diagnosed with it but thankfully it was a wrong diagnosis.

I am sorry for her loss and she should check out www.ashermans.org
