Need help with breakouts! PLEASE

The breakouts are getting horrible. I am not one to normally get zits at all so this is huge. I currently have 5 unwanted lumps on my face and it's driving me mad! Do any of you have home remedies, good products you used to stop the breakouts? The Old Wives Tale of the baby stealing your beauty and that being why you break out better be true. I wanna see the cutest baby ever lol! Thanks though for your help in advance ladies. Pretty soon I am just going to wear a bag over my head.

  • This is going to sound crazy but it absolutely worked for me and I'm never going back to my old routine: I stopped using all cleansers, soaps, moisturizers, everything. I wash my face?gently?with a washcloth and warm water, and I follow with a few drops of jojoba oil (you can get it affordably at Trader Joe's) to moisturize. It also works great on a cotton ball as a make-up remover.?

I originally tried it both because I was having PG breakouts and b/c I wanted to reduce the chemicals I was putting on my body. It's been an amazing, drastic difference. I've gotten maybe just 3 zits in the 5 months or so, and they haven't been bad ones.

When you use acne washes and other face washes, they strip your face of it's natural oils which can cause your face to over-produce it's own oil (sebum.) Jojoba is a very fine, thin oil which disperses quickly and mimics your own natural sebum which helps your face to regulate it's own production. My face never feels too oily or too dry.

End of sales pitch - there's lots of info out there if you google it.?

Good luck with whatever you do - breakouts are no fun!?

  • I also threw out all of my chemical face products and went with natural stuff, it can be kind of spendy but I use very sparingly. I have heard that you can put a little dab of toothpaste as spot treatment overnight to dry out the pimple without having to make a mess out of it by squeezing it. I always forget to try this at night so sorry I can't tell you if it works or not. I can tell you that you're not alone. My breakouts have gotten better but they are definitely not gone.

My LNM told me that benzoyl peroxide is perfectly safe to use in pregnancy. I use the Clean and Clear 10% Benzoyl Peroxide face wash and an oil free moisturizer. I am not totally acne free, but mostly. I am actually starting to break out again, which signals another hormonal change...

I love Pearly's suggestion, but I have such oily skin, and a skin condition that is worsened by PG hormones, that it doesn't work for me. I wish I could go a more natural way. But I cannot. Good luck!!

  • Funny you should say the thing about toothpaste. I heard that too and read about it last night. So since two of them were HGUE and red, I put some toothpaste on there last night and it did actually tone it done. Which was nice. They are still lumps but not monsterous red lumps lol. I have a trader joes by my work and I am going to try that jojoba oil thing. I normally have pretty neutral skin but since pregnancy it has been super dry. So the oil might help. Thanks for the advice ladies.
