Can you describe what kind of pain it is?
I've been having pain for over 2 years in various places of my abdomen and pelvis, but particularly bad in one spot on the left below my ribcage. I've been hospitalized twice, and all together I've seen 10 different doctors, and 6 different kinds of doctors. I've had a laparoscopy, 7 cat scans, multiple abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds, a gallbladder scan, a colonoscopy, 2 endoscopies, a barium swallow, an enormous amount of bloodwork, been tested for Lyme's disease, seen a rheumatologist to be evaluated for fibromyalgia. Every last test comes back normal, except the laparoscopy which found only 1 small spot of endo on my ovary, and a few times when they found ovarian cysts/fibroids on ultrasounds.
While I was pregnant, the pain seemed to go away, and it didn't resurface until I stopped nursing. But I've been back on bcp's now for almost 2 months & it's not getting any better. They are suggesting Lupron if I don't feel better by next month, and another laparoscopy if I don't want to take Lupron (which I don't).
Right now my GI dr., my gynecologist and the reproductive endocrinologist I saw all see endo as the only explanation. But I'm not 100% convinced, and I'd like to know if anyone can describe what it feels like in detail, other than just "pain"?
I also have recurring cysts, polycystic ovaries, and a uterine fibroid, but none of them are large.
Re: Does anyone here have pain with endometriosis?
I knew something wasn't right when I had sharp stabbing pains during sex and it kept getting worse. Also, I cramped SOOO bad during AF that I'd sit in the bathroom because I didn't know if it was AF cramps or upset stomach cramps. I also had heavy and irregular periods. Somedays it hurt to walk because I was constantly cramping/pulling/stabbing feeling. I had a laproscopy and I was told to TTC within the next 6 months or I wouldn't be able to have children. We weren't ready so they gave me 3 or 4 months of Lupron. The Lupron puts off the endos ability to grow/spread, but hello menopause!
Have you tried it without the BCP? The BCP made my cramps worse because of all the hormones. My doctor which is a HUGE supporter of BCP told me that she and I would just have to accept the fact that I couldn't take BCP for the rest of my life.
