Scary appointment today

I went for my first weekly appointment today and everything went normally.. until they tried to find the baby's heartbeat. Normally they find it right away and it is usually loud and pounding but today it took a couple minutes.

 They found a heartbeat, but at first they thought it was mine and had to doublecheck against my own pulse. But, they finally determined it was the baby and not me, it was just that the baby's heartbeat was slower than normal and not as loud. (Kennedy has been between 140 and 150 most of the pregnancy. She was 130 today, which they said is still normal and is fine.)

Still, I almost had a heart attack waiting for them to find her! I know she is ok because she has been moving around a lot, but at the same time I fell down last week and was anxious to know everything was ok!

There was some good news... I had my first internal and I'm 25% effaced and 1 cm dialated! Not much, but for almost 36 weeks I'm ok with that. We'll see what happens from here on out, I guess!

Whew! I had a similiar scare one time. Yay for progress!!

Ahhh!  I imagine it would be so scary.  I'm glad everything is ok!!

Sorry for the scary moment, but YAY for progress!!!  From 36 to 41 weeks, I was only 50% effaced and only fingertip dilated.

I'm glad everything is okay!  It seems like it hasn't been long since announced your pregnancy and now you're at 36 weeks!  Won't be long until you meet Kennedy. :-)

I remember those moments waiting to hear the heartbeat...it always seemed like it took hours...I am so glad to hear all is ok. Hooray for progress!

I'm sorry you had a scary appt.  I remember a few times when we were at the very end - Avery somehow could escape the doppler.  We could SEE her moving from one side of my belly to the other but we couldn't ever pick up a heartbeat because she'd move away from it.

I can't believe you're already 36 wks!!!!  Wow.  Can't wait to "meet" Kennedy too!!!!  She is blessed to have wonderful parents.
